This cartridge have been a long time popular wildcat. The 6,5-284 Winchester is almost identical to the 6,5-284 Norma cartridge introduced in 1999. A 28-inch barrel loaded with any of the better VLD (Very Low Drag) moly-plated bullets between 130 and 155 grains in this cartridge easily achives sufficient velocity for accurate 1000-yard benchrest shooting.
