Very Accurate load in my gun. Mild-Moderate recoil based upon your recoil sensitivity. No pressure signs, however, did not work up to max load. To get a starting load, I did some extrapolation math based on published 45-70 (Hodgdon trapdoor level) and 45-90 (Accurate Powder) data. Probably could get more horsepower out of it in this gun, but wanted to stay safe. Powder did not quite fill the case (~.1 " below base of bullet). Hornaday bullet crimped on cannelure located furthest from base. |
