.416 Raptor

The .416 Raptor was the first cartridge developed by Ing. Michael W. Mayerl in the year 2000. The .416 Raptor is based on the 30-06 family and best made from Remington .35 Whelen brass. The manufacturing is very easy because only some steps are needed to get the right case dimension without fireforming. The case length 61,4mm / 2,417 (minus 0,2mm / 0,008" tolerance) and it`s tolerance is very important because this cartridge is headspaced on the case mouth like the 30 Carbine or most pistol cartridges. A partial crimp is possible. The .416 Raptor is the biggest possible and most powerfull cartridge within the 30-06 wildcat family. With an energy of up to 5800 Joule, a .416 bullet diameter and an overall length of max. 83mm / 3,268" the .416 Raptor is best used to build high reliable M98 rifles for the roughest hunting trips. www.styriaarms.com.
