Designed by Todd Baldwin, the �500 BRUISER� was designed to obtain as much hitting power as possible from rifles designed for short magnum cartridges. The cartridge utilizes shortened Remington Ultra Magnum brass and 0.500 caliber bullets. With an OAL of 2.9 inches and a water capacity of 93 grains, the Bruiser can easily be loaded to velocities of over 2400fps with a 350 grain bullet producing over 5000 pounds of muzzle energy. Originally built on a Ruger M77 Mark II action and weighing in at 7.5 pounds with a 24 inch barrel, the Bruiser easily lives up to its name when loaded to its potential. When loaded at high velocities, Barnes or other heavy jacketed bullets must be used.
